New build private apartment above parking for Sidley Piper Homes.
Lead effect roofing works to Apartment totalling approx. 135sqm.
Roof Construction
Timber decking and falls by others, Sarnavap 500E vapour control layer, Sarnatherm tissue faced insulation mechanically fixed to deck, Sarnafil G410-15EL fully adhered to the insulation. Finished with Standing seam profiles.
Challenges
The main issue we had was the weather. The damp air caused several bonding issues causing remedial works to ensure the client was satisfied with the finish. Other than that the project took around two weeks and looks very smart.
Conclusion
The client is happy with the finish. I think I would go mech fixed on a similar project in the future as the adhesive showed all steps in ply (by others) and the insulation, even though it was taped up. I think that would be leave a better finish.
